Creative Catchment Kids Resources

We have a long-standing association with Creative Catchment Kids with their book writing program being a sister to Enviro-Stories.

Creative Catchment Kids LogoThe Creative Catchment Kids program was established by Wirraminna Environmental Education Centre in 2010. The program provided opportunities for positive, cooperative activities that encourage students to learn about and respond to, natural resource management, the importance of farming, biosecurity and pest management as well as facilitating education in First People’s culture.

PeeKdesigns has been a part of the Creative Catchment Kids journey since 2011, initially through participation in our Enviro-Stories program. Enviro-Stories has not only been a highly rewarding program for both PeeKdesigns and Wirraminna, but most importantly for the students, schools, parents and other supporting agencies involved. From 2011 to 2016 there have been around 240 books published that have been written and illustrated by kids from over 60 schools from Cabramurra to Tibooburra, and everywhere in between.

Creative Catchment Kids is also a curriculum linked program that encourages links between schools and communities, encourages leadership and team work within the students, connects students with their local area and celebrates local achievements.
