Sponsored the event

We sponsored the NSW Environmental Education Conference by developing and managing their website – www.nsweeconference.org.au This was the second year that we sponsored the Conference and we’re happy to be a part of such a long-standing environmental education tradition.

Kelly presented a Roundtable session on the Friday (see abstract below) and we had a Poster display.

Simple steps to developing your own website.

So, you have this great idea of sharing what you’re doing on the Internet, or perhaps you want to sell some products, but you’re not too sure how to go about it. Do you need a custom designed site, build a site yourself or just use social media? There are so many options out there and everyone’s trying to sell you their preferred methods. As you start looking into it you notice that the language changes from “easy setup” to realising you need a degree in html, php and SQL – is that text message for Squirrel? It can get very confusing.

In this session I will talk you through some of the first things you need to think about when wanting to share your knowledge on the Internet. You will walk away with a cheat sheet that defines some terminology, questions to ask yourself before getting started, what to ask a web designer when getting a quote, how to manage your website development and a guideline to some of the associated costs that you can occur along the journey. Come along and get your questions answered in this simple step guide to developing your own website.
